.177 cal Crosman Raven Sold Pending Funds
« on: August 11, 2009, 10:22:29 AM »

The gun has been gone through completely. I have deburred, cleaned, lube tuned it and given a new Macarri piston seal. Very smooth little shooter with an ok trigger. Did a chrono test today with 7.6gr Gamo Hunters and the gun averaged 600 fps. Low was 596 and high was 605. Loves JSB Exact though and I have less than dime size grouped them at 10 yards with the iron sights.

Gun comes with original box, all paperwork. Double boxed and usually ships same day as funds recieved. I'll give buyer an email with the tracking number. Money orders only, please.

Asking $50 shipped where allowed by law. If interested email me at commandox@wi.rr.com.

Thanks for looking.

Seems it was sold to someone else...,
I "thought" the first to post "I'll take it" was the winner, but guess the rules are different here. I will have to take time to go over the selling / buying rules so I will know next time.

Sorry Wayne.  There are no such "rules" here.

As I stated in my selling info: "If interested email me at commandox@wi.rr.com."

Someone else got to it before you did.

No hard feelings man.

That's ok,
I am new here and did not know the rules. Usually it is the first to post gets it.
It would be easier if there was a '1 rule" for all sites, then everyone would know, but that will never happen.
I would have liked to have it though...,
What did you do to it to get the higher velocity?
I would like to tune one like you did, any tips, etc?

I understand your frustrations Wayne.

I didn't do anything but a tear apart, deburr, and standard lube job and a seal replacement with one I had laying around that was originally for a Gamo Shadow  I don't remember the exact specs on the seal but it was a purple-ish blue.  I tweaked a couple things in very minor ways and then put it back together.  The fps went up about 25fps but more importantly it evened out a lot.  Variance now is 10 fps or less.  It really only seems to like JSB Exacts but that's alright with me.

That was it.  I didn't even mess with the trigger other than adding some lube on the moving parts. (Not trigger/sear connections though).

As I said in my PM, if it falls through you have dibs on it.

Not frustrated, just learning curve here:)

Thanks for the tips...,
Do you know if a better spring is available?

I did some research on that and from what I was able to see there is not an adequate spring replacement. ( I could be wrong.)

It is a smaller spring.....perhaps cutting and reshaping the end of a different spring would work.

I kept the stock spring because it was in good shape to begin with.

I appreciate your help.
If the deal falls through, let me know.
If I have the cash at that time, I will get it, however, all my pockets have burn holes, LOL!!
