Still In Love With My Gamo S1K .177 L/W
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:32:31 PM »

Yes I have had quite a few Gamo air rifles in the past 5 years now. I have weeded out most all of them. Not because they were bad but just because I had to make room for more air guns..:) The Gamo S1K that I kept is a modified S1K with a L/W 12 lan choked barrel. Awesome accuracy and very smooth shooting. The barrel is only 14" long and I have made a muzzle brake for it. I have packed the stock with memory foam and has a complete turbo tune with JM tarantula spring and apex seal along with the GRT-III trigger. My love for springers and the simplicity of how they shoot and react to different pellets just amazes me and is always a challenge when trying to obtain a nice 1" group at 30 yards. Out of all my springers that I have purchased since the S1K 5 years ago, I still like to take her out for a session to give myself a lesson in patients..:) Even though she can shoot very accurately she still wants to be held and shot only one way and that is her way..:) Just like a woman.. hehe

Sweet! I'm with you on the Springer thing. I got this QB78 and after a bunch of shots through it(32 cartridges), well it's just not as consistant as I would like it to be.I'm always guessing where I'm at on the shot count. Don't get me wrong, when I'm in the sweet spot it is DEAD ON!

That G1 Extreme Timmy offered up is one bad Mo Fo!! It's sending Preditors through the same hole at 15 yards and spreading them a little at 25, still kill zone size groups though.

Tipping my hat to the springers and the ones you love to pull back out of the closet!

Gene, I also have a S1K, made in '03.  I cronied it last weekend and after all the thousands of pellets through the all original power plant she still shoots 870-915 fps with crosman pointed pellets from wal-fart...i mean wal-mart...lol
