Nuttin' wrong with pine, I say. There are a lot more beautiful and useful woods out there than most people realize. BTW, nice stock work. It looks great.
I'm more of a take 2 or 3 months to do a good tung oil finish kind of person myself, but I'm really starting to appreciate the synthetic finishes.
