Bushnell Sportsman
« on: August 25, 2009, 06:17:04 AM »
I needed a new scope for the Discovery I have coming from Sunshine Airguns, so stopped at Wally World to take a look at the Bushnell Sportsman 4-12X40 AO. I have mostly Centerpoint scopes on my other rifles but just wanted something different for the Discovery. It's hard to tell through the heavy clam shell packaging what the scope is like, so I took a chance a bought it, $69. In the store I compaired the Centerpoints in one hand and the Bushnell in the other hand and the Bushnell was alot lighter,(thinking to myself, I hope this thing is not all plastic). After getting it home and westeling it out of the clam shell (which is tough when you no longer have much hand strength left, can't even open a jar of pickels), it looks like a nice scope. I haven't mounted it yet because the Discovery is still in the mail. Side by side compairsons to my Centerpoints, the Bushnell is more clear and is much brighter. It doesn't have mill dots or the fancy illuminated rectile but it has better optics and has nicer lens covers, not the funky rubber caps. I think I'll be happy with it.

I have one mounted on my Rem. 1200 Vantage and it is a nice scope. It has only been on the gun for about 200 shots but seems to do a great job an has accounted for 1 bunny so far.

 Rem.Vantage/chopped and tuned by me.
