lower link mod
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:50:18 AM »
Hey guys, I just finished modding the lower link assembly rather than using a set screw which I have heard can cause sear drag. I drilled out an additional hole in the lower link 1/4" towards the muzzle end utilizing the 3rd hole and pin. This gave me a "leverage" advantage thus lessening the trigger pull lbs, while not jeopardizing the position of the sear while in cocked position. After a bit of grinding and polishing, as well as a few dabs of moly, I've got a trigger that's super smooth and light. It's got a touch more travel than I expected, so I installed the top set screw just to bring the trigger up close to the sear. I also added a "weaker" trigger spring, (actually a pen spring) ,a makeshift spring guide and power adjuster. The overall action feels clean and smooth, and breaks really crisp. I can't wait to get her out in the field this weekend! I'll keep you posted.
Special thanx to Marv, who gave me the lower link mod idea!
