Welcome to AA (Airgunners Anonymous).
Hi, I'm Dave and I'm a (gulp) airgun addict. Sniff, sniff.
:)
Couldn't fight the urge, I pushed the button. Psssttt....(whispering) don't tell my wife.
Excellent price for a combo of that name and output. Can't go wrong.
Hey, let's all meet back here and report our purchase and how it turned out. What you did to/with it and how you like it.
Happy Shooting!!!!

Perhaps someone should be on comission.
I have been on the forum for less than a week, and I learned a bunch already.  I have 2 Gamo Shadow 1000 NRA's in the family and one old Sheridan Blue Streak.  The tuneup bug has just bitten me.  I'm looking forward to the Walther.

Don't think they can afford much commission if they are already selling this gun for $69!

As you can tell by my post count, I'm a newbie. I've been reading quite a bit, but I can't seem to find info on "tuning for dummies". I have this Walther coming tomorrow. Is there anything I can do to better the gun, without spring compressors and the like or can you point me to some other posts discussing minor tuning?
Thanks, I know this is not the correct forum for this, but I figured since I will be getting the same gun, you all could guide me.

There is always hiring a tuner! I don't do my own tunes (yet). You might think it silly to do a $150 tune on a $70 rifle, but for $220 you'll end up with a $500 gun...

Guess the demand has caused them to raise the price, it's now @ $79.97 + s/h. Mine should be here Thursday, got it before they raised the price. Still a bargain at the new price, from the different reviews I've read. Here's a $5 off coupon also, if anybody wants to score one of them before they sell out or go up yet again.
Use coupon code "SG1967". If you're a member, you can get $10 off with coupon code "SN366".

UPS delivered 10am. Looking forward to getting it home and pushing the first few pellets through. Opened the box and looks brand new! I'll know more this evening, but no complaints so far!

This could be my back up hunter...... No! Don't click!..... But it looks so.... easy....NO!

Not right now. Maybe later.

Why is it so hard to stay away from a good sales pitch!?!

Got it out of the box and the only thing I wasn't terribly happy with was there is a single R stamped on the side of the stock -- about 14 or 16 point type.

But I got past that and everything about the gun was pretty familiar. This is a previous generation AR1000. It doesn't have the fibre optic sights. That and it is a smooth, not checkered, stock.

Feels much like a TF89 in all other respects out-of-the box. However, one difference...accuracy is pretty good. With no tune, 30 feet, standing, open sights... I shot a .25 7 shot group with the first 7 pellets. I wasn't expecting to be quite that tight -- especially with the very long first stage and stiff pull. This only gets better with a tune, trigger adjustment, and some break-in time.

Very happy with that purchase! I'll get a chrony on it this weekend.

Got mine yesterday. Will be next week before I get the daylight time to chrony it and see just how it shoots. Like mentioned already, the gun looks new with the exception of the "R" stamped on the left side foregrip. Nothing impressive about the fit and finish on mine. Would make for a good field gun only if it can perform better than it looks.
Came in a plain brown box with a Walther sticker on the end. All tags and paperwork accompanied as if new. Along with an allen wrench to mount the scope. Scope was unmounted with rings attached and wrapped in plain brown paper. Rings did show signs of having been previously installed. I will withhold judgement on it until I've had time to push a few rounds through it. Does anyone know of a trigger and guard replacement for this one? I can tell before ever chambering the first round that I don't care much for the hokey trigger and plastic trigger guard. :)
Will at least be a gun I can tinker withto refinemy tuning skills. Hey, it may turn out to be the best shooter in my arsenal, who knows. But for $69.99, it's still worth it for the rated power.
Will report back after I get time to set up my targets and chrony for testing.
Happy Shooting!!!!
