Questions For The Air Arms S410 Owners.....
« on: November 30, 2009, 12:49:44 PM »
Air Arms S410 owners:

1)   What velocities are you getting with both the full size and carbine models?  (in EXTRA FAC)   With what pellet?
2)   How much quieter is the full size model compared to the carbine?  Is the carbine still really quiet?
3)   Is it only the full size model that comes with a power adjuster?
4)   Would I need to get a different foster fitting to fill an S410 with my Benjamin hand pump or will the fitting that's on the pump fit the fill  adapter that comes with the gun.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer these questions.  I appreciate it.

#1; Don't know the answer for my carbine......guess I'll be shooting her thru a chrony later in the day and tell you later.

#2;  The carbine is still loud at high power....I think the full size model is lower in noise at high power.  That's one of the reasons why I wished I had purchased the longer barrel rifle.

#3;  The older version probably didn't have the power adjuster....all the newer S410's have the power adjuster.  But ask before buying just to be sure.

#4; Don't know about that.

Forgot to mention my AA S410SL carbine is a .22 and not the XTRA version....just AA S410SL FAC carbine. I don`t remember exactly what`s the difference between the XTRA and FAC versions.

Here's some of the velocities on low, 1/4, mid, 3/4 and high power using .22 Crosman Premier Hollow Points at 14.3 grains.

20 shot string and all the first shot of each string is shot at 200 BAR (A little below 3000psi). I'll give the high, low and speeds that most of the shots fell in;

Low Power: High: 454.4 (1st shot) Low: 396.4 (20th shot) 5 shots in the 430 to 454fps range. 13 shots in the 399 to 407fps range. Ending BAR at 20th shot: 156 BAR

1/4 Power: High: 601.0 Low: 533.1 8 shots in the 560 to 601fps range. 12 shots in the 533.1 to 542fps range. Ending BAR at 20th shot: 155 BAR

Mid Power: High: 904 (10th shot) Low: 806.7 2 shots just over 900fps. 6 shots in-between 808 to 827fps. 12 shots in-between 847 to 890. Ending BAR: 150

3/4 Power: High: 907 Low: 870.4 3 shots over 900fps. 17 shots in-between 870 to 897fps. BAR ending: 145

Hi Power: High: 919 Low: 872.8 (20th shot) 5 shots over 910fps. 8 shots over 900. 7 shots in-between 872 to 890fps. BAR ending: 140
