You may need to run a scan of some kind on your PC.
The premium for Apple hardware isn't 2-3X, never was - unless you are building up your own PC's from Chinese motherboards, generic power supplies, hard drives, and homebrew cases.
For my money, just the security of not having virus and worm infestations is valuable. Everyone I know who has used a Mac agrees.
I use a PC at work, and we have two layers of techs to call, Iron Mountain backup software, Symantec anti-virus, and additional firewall servers. All of which gets into hanging, "unavailable" issues, or just bogged-down situations a couple of times a week.
At home, my MacBook is connected with an Airport base station, and I have no extra antiviral crapware to mess with. I bought some Apple stock a while back, and it has paid for more than a nice laptop.
I sincerely believe that running MacOS and Apple hardware is the way to go, and well worth a premium.
