Alternative to Divers Grease?
« on: November 16, 2009, 09:47:04 AM »
Hi everyone,
I received my parts today from Crosman,in order to covert my .177 Discovery into .22.I have often heard the mention of divers grease,to lube the seals upon installation.I don't have divers grease, but can I use something like 45wt. silicone shock oil for RC cars for this purpose????

No you can not.

Go to the auto parts store and look for slicone dielectric grease.

It's the same as divers grease, just cost's less.

Or go to Lowes...plumbing department...should find a little tube of pure food-grade Silicon grease (Gunk brand).

When it comes to using the wrong things for PCP's we need to intervene fast to keep the user safe.

We wouldn't want to hear about your gun exploding and causing personal injury or your untimely demise.

If in doubt...ask questions and you shall receive the answers you seek.
