The misses surprised me yesterday!

She said she was going to breakfast with her friends in the morning and I needed to watch the kids. No problem I say. Until later when I went looking for my Cell Phone and found it missing. Well, she comes home after about 2, 2 and a half hours and she got me one of those new Droid computer phones from Verizon.

I really wasn't one to get te newest baddest phone as soon as they came out. I'm (or was) more of a minimalist kinda guy. If it called out and recieved calls, I was happy. I was actually against the iPhone and all the "Apps"  But this thing is pretty cool! It's similar to the iPhone from what I've been reading. Does all the same stuf. Now I  can log onto GTA anywhere!

I played with it for a while last night and I've been turned! hahaha

I might like one myself, if I could read the writing on the screen without my reading glasses :emoticon: Or write without a stylise,,, fat fingers !!!

It's not that hard to read at all Bill. If you double tap the screen with your finger it zooms in. It also has a slide out Keyboard. Pretty cool so far. We'll see how DURABLE it is! I'm haaarrrd on phones!

Sherrie works for Verizon and they provided her with one (they always give her the latest, sometimes before it even hits the streets) and she loves it. It seems to be far better than the IPhone and is very complex and has GPS and a whole bunch of other stuff that I wouldn't begin to play with or know what to do with. It's kinda scary. I won't touch it for fear that it might splode or somethin     Heck, I can't even text message        If many of the features are used, the battery don't last long. The new one will be out in January but she says that it won't be any better than the first two models but will have a few more features and will have a better battery life. Can't see how they can stuff so much into such a small device.

Charlie, technology is moving moving faster and faster every day!

I can still remember my old Tandy TRS80 personal computer. Big, rather typewrite looking, used cartriges and later a 5.25" floppy drive that weighed 19 pounds. hehehe Now my weather station has more computing power than that old Tandy by at least 10 fold.

Do you remember when a phone was there to make phone calls, and had a dial on it ?

Now we have some device that is so small ya can't find it, and you don't know how to answer it when it makes them funny noises ?

Next year you'll probably have cable TV on them. WHAT NEXT !!!

Ya just can't get a telephone that makes telephone calls today !

Bill... They already have cable TV on em. It's on mine. It's called Verizon V-Cast. I also get YouTube and whatever else the internet has to offer

Now you're making me miss the APPLE IIe I use back in '83 and the big ole 5 1/4 floppy that you need to boot or else you won't be able to access/save stuff to it..the whole whopping 140 kilobytes of info to it!!!!

Oh yea! I never had Mac's but I do remember putting in the boot disc EVERY TIME in my Tandy's.  Then having to type dir: or dir: /w to find the .exe file for the programs. or just entering plain old DOS to start a program. hahahahaha!!!
