Hey Red,
Who has the .22 CFX? Just went to PA and a couple of others and only see .177.
Thanks,
Dave

I'm customizing one with an english walnut stock and a custom designed muzzle brake. I just purchased a fiddleback maple blank to carve my own stock for the other...which will eventually get a custom muzzle brake too.

Pre-tune the TF89 .22 shot a string with a standard deviation less than one -- and that was without weighing the pellets. The new generation of TF89s is awesome.

Powerful and accurate.

.22 with 14.2 CPHP @ 758fps > 18+ FPE

.177 with 7.9 CPHP @912fps > 14+ FPE

All I did for tune was debur & lube tune it and use original seal and spring. There was a post that can bring the RS2 to higher FPS and I think with what she's spitting now is fine since it is now smooth and and it benched at 17 yards and it place all 5 pellets in the size of a penny. Mine shoots well also with daisy .22 wadcutters and that's what I use to get varmint squirrels inside 20 yards to minimize shot over. Another bump for the CFX at $169.  Great accuracy, good power, very nice package (at least in my 177 version).  Only thing lacking by some is the trigger.  You might want to make sure that the newer models are compatible with the Tuna's trigger upgrade.  Heard that there might be some changes made to the Gamo design.

Good luck on the search!

power is not everything...

I second that. Plus, Gene has stopped tuning the talon mags. They have a LOT of recoil. TF89 is a big gun here on the GTA right now, for a good reason; It is a magnum (hunting) extremely accuarate (target) and Gene tunes them very nicely (perfection!) It is the gun that I chose after considering a lot of others. I looked at the Talon mag but dropped it quickly.

TF89! I have a TF89 in .22 turbo tuned by Gene and its shooting over 24ft lb and dead accurate, mine wasn't near as smooth or as strong before Mr. Gene worked his magic on it but it was accurate, and I'd put it up against any other springer out there as far as accuracy goes, so whoever said they aren't accurate clearly doesn't own one, just ask the bookdoc, he has a few of them. And as far as power goes, mine is shooting 15.3 grain pellets at almost 860 FPS, (its actually gained about 30 fps since putting 1000 or so pellets through it since the tune, must be settling in) and is as smooth as silk(due to Genes Turbo Tune) I actually bought mine and scoped it with a Barska 4X12X44A0 for just a shade over 200, then you can always get the turbo tune later, I don't know what they go for now but when I bought my B26 in .22 off Mike Melick at Flying dragon air rifles I got it tuned and shipped for a little over 200. They have went up a little in price since I got mine but not by much. And its a light super accurate gun with a great trigger. It shoots 14.3 grain pellets at 680+ FPS and hobby pellets in the 730s, I wouldn't part with either one of my guns but it shows what kind of potential some of these 200 dollar guns have, get one, get some good glass, get a tune done or do it yourself and you can have a gun that will outshoot most of the higher dollar guns out there.
Mike Melick tuned Bam B26,with  Leapers 4x16x40ao scope,Gene turbo tuned TF89 with Barska 3X12X40A0 scope and More powder burners than you can shake a stick at.                  Gun control is hitting what your aiming at

Sorry Josh,
Was still pondering that one but can't really justify spending that much right now. Hated to close the door on it but guess I need to stay realistic with my situation. I'm about to push the button on the TF89. I'm familiar with the tear-down already and can always take my Walther barrel off and mount it to this one for a .177. Or, just keep them both. :)
Yours is an exceptional piece and I'd love to have it but.....
Plus, yours is READY to hunt, I'm a tinkerer. I want to buy one and disassemble it to see how it looks inside and make any improvements I can.
Thanks again, I appreciate the offer!!
Happy Shooting!!!!

Dave, if you are buying the TF89 to get a .22 barrel, you might as well just keep the TF89 .22 as is! That and the Walther are both TF89s, and really the new TF89 .22s seem to be even slightly better than before. Hate to see you put in the effort just to have the same gun all over again!

Rich,
My quest began with trying to find a set of .22 barrels for my .177s to swap out and have both calibers. But, after looking around and seeing 1) replacment barrels are HARD to get & 2) the TF89 is identical to the Walther but nicer, I have decided to keep the Walther as-is and just add a .22 horse to my stable. :)
I'll be ordering a .22 TF89 today. I have an order form filled out at Compasseco but waiting on an email reply from a member here that has one for sale.
I DO still have a .22 barrel on order for my Benji andI'm quite sureit's going to be a powerhouse shooter with that barrel.
Looking forward to my new scope arrival too. I will be mounting it on my soon to have TF89.

LOL
Might be. Think it can handle it? I mean the scope handling the gun? It WILL be tuned to tame it down some. And very frankly, I have several high power powder burners with scopes. I have had my Daisy/Powerline/Winchester 1000 for 2 years with the factory 3-9x32 scope along with my Benji & Walters that are glassed. I have put many rounds through all but the Benji and Walther and have NEVER had an issue with glass going bad. Now that I've said that, I'll probably have one take a dump on me soon. :)
I personally like the spring loaded scope stop on the Walther/TF89. Theoretically, if there is too much shock, it helps absorb it. Guess I've just never been snakebit by the glass issue.

Well, Leapers may be true strength, but the 89 is tougher. See my review in my sig. Plus, that scope stop is crap. I have knocked it up 2 times, only 10 shots after putting it on. I said this same stuff to some one else who got the same scope. I am going to return the scope to PA asap.

Was a Walther Talon Magnum .22 for sell, been couple of weeks back Gas Ram for $200.00 IIRC. It would kill the TF89 power wise.
HERE??? Or where???
Normal price for stock spring is $209.
Would love a gas piston one for $200!!!!
