QB78 barrell length?

I have just purchased a new QB 78 D.  I am thinking about bobbing the barrel 2-3 inches prior to putting on a hollow brake or shroud.  Does anyone know how adversely my velocity will be affected?

I would be more concerned in the barrel. I chopped my 78D barrel down to 14-1/2"  and found out the hard way that the barrel was bore off centered. So much that it was clipping my MB so bad and throughing the poi off every shot. if I took the MB off, it wold shoot far left as that ws the way the bore was centered. I ended up with a 78 barrel, smaller size but came out more true than the 78D barrel. I dont know if they have gotten any better since I bought mine two years ago, but I defentely be wary of that D barrel.

2-3 inches won't affect muzzle velocity much. Maybe 10-15 FPS in a untuned gun. I wouldn't worry about it.
