If you end up getting the FWB 300 this will get you through the rebuild http://www.pilkguns.com/tenp/fwb300fieldstrip.htm New piston bumper, port gasket and a merlin spring from http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/page/page/251327.htm and you can get close or slightly above 700 fps.
If some is good and more is better - then too much is just right.

He even has a full tune kit for the 300.

Although, I personally would not be interested in bumping UP the velocity.  The idea is accuracy, not velocity.  If the added velocity decreases shooting accuracy, I would not be interested.

I haven't noticed any ill effects on accuracy. Someone was even shooting FT with upped power FWB300 so it can't be all bad  :)

I would have to check the FWB specs.  But as I recall, match rifle velocity is selected for what would shoot wadcutters at 10 meters most accurately.
For FT they are probably shooting round head at way beyond 10 meters.

According to the specs on the Maccarri kit, increase of 20-40 fps.  20fps increase should not make much difference, not sure about 40fps.

The merlin spring with good gaskets shoulf make it 600-700+fps. Whether it is 0.5 or 1mm ctc I'm not good enough shooter to to tell, just that it is still quite enough accurate for most of us mundane shooters.
