New Mac1 2240
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:04:52 PM »

Wife gave the green light on the purchase of a Mac1 2240. So I'm like a kid in a candy store. I call Mac1 and purchase the 2240 and get the accuracy prep, added a 14' barrel and a steel breech. Now I have to wait for the new born baby to arrive. So here's the question should I mount a Red Dot , Scope or Open sights on this new rig. I'm also thinking of putting a Laser pointer under the bottom tube. Any Ideas out there. When I get the whole Thing complete I will post pictures.

I know there has to be at least one shooter that can give a brother from another shooter mother some advice on what to do.

Reddots are fun and all, but for a really accurate rig you need a scope, IMHO. I plan on ordering a NCstar pistol scope (2x7), around $40-$50 this weekend for my 2240 :-)

Playing with:
Gamo .177 CFX/GRT-III / Delta
Baikal .22 MP-512M
Crosman 2240/ 2250 / 1377c / 1077 / 781
2 X .22 B3 / .22 QB362 / Daisy 22sg / No 100, Model 38
Beeman P17 / Beretta PX4 Storm .177 (and 9mm)
Ruger Airhawk .177 / XS-B3-1 (ak-47) .177

Advice depends un the use.

For target practice all will do just fine, but weight can be an issue. I'd start with open sights. The Williams notched blade sight is very good.

I did shoot 149/150 using the scope and both hands but was reluctant to post it.

For hunting you need advice from a hunter which I'm not, we are not allowed to hunt with airguns in the Netherlands.

Ok today the Mac1 2240 arrived and what a pretty pistol. I went to Big 5 Sporting Goods and purchased a BSA Red Dot to put on the new born baby. I'll take pic's and a writeup when I have a chance to sight her in.
Here's a link  of the Red Dot I put on the pistol. Great deal only $29 dollars! also purchased the Varmint Hunter Laser and Flashlight combo with pressure switch for $29 dollars as well. I'm going to put that on my AS2250XT I'll take pic's of that as well when I get everything set.

Ok I put on the Red Dot and sighted her in and I just have to say..... WOW!  Mac1 did a great job the action is smooth and the pistol shoots great! Now I can't wait to try it out on the critters I think this is the start of a great relationship with this baby. Here's a pic.

Sweet setup, looks vicious with the red dot scope. That is the same way I want my 2240 from Mac1.

Now Its time to enforce the NOVARMINT ZONE!
