Wanna Iguana ?????
« on: January 10, 2010, 08:52:29 AM »
Seems that the cold temps in Florida are having an impact on the Iguana population.   The news reports that the cold temps are putting the lizards into a stupor and they loose thier grip and are falling out of the trees.  Some are reported to be over 5 ft. in length.    Sounds like meat is back on the menu boys.  BBQ time.

You guys have Hummingbirds down there?  They must be dropping like flies since their heartrate is very slow when they're sleeping....so slow that if there's a freeze like what's going on....their heart just stops.  End of story.  :o(

Saw a show on the Iguana problem in Florida. The preferred method of putting them down once captured - burlap bag tossed into the freezer for a while. Neat looking lizards but glad they aren't this far north.
