Well whatever the case may be between the two shooters -- I (strangely enough) ended up going with the GAMO Whisper Silent Cat :) Especially at the $172 dollar price tag brand new. Hopefully it performs well on par with the traditional Whisper, of course if any differences are even present excluding the stock. I personally have not seen any members of this forum own a Silent Cat, is this speculation or is it true? Because it'd be awesome if I was the only one, hehe

Hey Jarred, congrats and welcome!!!! Keep us up to date with how she performs!! I have 4 Gamo's, 3 different model Whispers and a CFX. All have been Turbo Tuned and have the GRT trigger. I never even heard of the Silent Cat!! A little advice. Don't use the alloy pellets from Gamo, UGH, and check your trigger to see if it is plastic. If not, purchase a GRT as soon as possible!!!! Good luck!!!

Thank you :) I sure will, but I'm not new here you know haha -- I've shot my fair share of GAMO's; ex. Viper Express, Big Cat, and a Shadow. So I kinda know what to expect with the Silent Cat (I hope). Yeah I was thinking the Silent Cat was just an ordinary Shadow Fox, which it is but the Silent Cat has the ND52 system. Plus this way was way cheaper than anything else I have found. Also if you must know the website I got the Silent Cat from, it was: http://www.fedtactical.com Though I never ordered from them before, they seem like a legitimate company with exquisite pricing. Yeah I probably won't be using the PBA ammo, but I do have like 35 laying around so it's 50/50 on that hehe ;) I might get the GRT when I have the funds ready, but in the meantime I think I can deal with the unpredictable stock trigger!

Hehe will do! Out of pure excitement I just ordered up a GRT-III trigger :) So hopefully Bob (Charlie) can do me the honors of presenting me with one of those -- and I hope I'll get it by Thursday when my shooter arrives on Friday -- oh boy I can't wait to see how everything works! I might need a new scope, mount, and base in the future; so I hope I'll be fine with the stock 4x32....crossing my fingers that I don't have to do any long range shooting

Will update when I have something to put up :)

It looks like you have yourself a mighty fine rifle there, sir! Right now I'm drooling over that laser and light barrel mount you have. Where'd you get it? Seems that the trigger guard on that model has a slightly tighter tolerance with the GRT III trigger installed than my CSI. I can't really tell from the pics. Let us know how that beast shoots and how that trigger upgrade feels on it! :)

Hehe indeed I do :) That laser barrel mount huh? Ah, that's just a regular old "UTG Tri-Rail Barrel Mount". Can be found here: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/UTG_Deluxe_Tri-Rail_Barrel_Mount/1785

If you want one for your 1" scope, then this one will fit the bill: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_Deluxe_Shotgun_Tri-Rail_Barrel_Mount/2668

Yeah, the GRT feels a bit awkward in the trigger guard so I have to hold it a weird way in which it feels slightly uncomfortable to shoot; now I have to snap shoot, meaning quick trigger pulls to get good groups *sigh* The trigger adds a nice addition to this shooter, and definitely makes it much more enjoyable. I haven't gone out to do any more testing, but maybe later today or this coming weekend. Who knows! :)

I've got a plain 'ole Whisper (well, I suppose plain isn't quite fair; it's got a GRT-3, gas ram, wood stock, and 4-16x40AO mil-dot scope) in .177.

It has settled in QUITE nicely after I installed my gas ram and did a tune at the same time.  9 months later and several thousand pellets through her, and I haven't lost any FPS.  With JSB exact heavies, I can take a tree rat in the head RELIABLY out to 35 yards, and get 'em with a heart/lung shot out as far as 58 yards (in fact I got one this past weekend at this range).

I had some side-to-side barrel play issues awhile back, but I've found that so long as I keep the breach seal in good shape (replace frequently; I've put in three new ones in this timeframe with the shooting I've done) the Whisper remains very accurate.

Take care of her, and I'm sure you'll enjoy her for years to come!!!
