Dirty Jobs tonight.
« on: January 12, 2010, 01:08:48 AM »
I have been told that the program Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe will feature Ghann's Cricket Farm.   They are located in Augusta Georgia and sell crickets world wide.   The reason I mentioned this is because these are some of my Wife's relatives.   They started years ago raising crickets for fishbait and have expanded the markets  and thier operation significantly.
I am not buds with them but we have bought crickets from them for fishing.   The only time I see them is at Family Reunions.   I will learn just as much as anybody if I can remember to watch this episode tonight...or whenever it airs.

Crickets have been very very good to them.  It is a quite lucrative business.

I will feel like an ass if this fails to air tonight...or any other night for that matter.  So don't give me to hard of a time if it does not air.

Good bait and way to tell temperature too. If IIRC it's considered good luck to keep one especially the Chinese... continue the luck and give us better air rifles!!!!!

I'll take a look, - should be interesting. I never heard of anyone raising crickets, - guess you learn something everyday.

Mmmm, - yeah, think I have heard of ol' GC. - it's a tad too nippy around here for a "year "round" cricket population, at least a very active one.

Not exactly a "backyard" operation is it??     Unless you have a very large backyard.

Actually caught that episode and would not have if you hadn't mentioned it. Wonder if a big old bag of Poo would make a good pellet trap? Bag filler? Ok, I'm goin'.
