The new, large Gamo muzzle brakes
« on: January 14, 2010, 12:16:37 PM »
I can't quite fathom why Gamo (and now the others) went to this really large brake, especially those without any baffling. Has anyone replaced theirs? Was looking at a BSA Superstar (forerunner of the CFX) and the brake on that is very sleek.

IMHO they not only look stupid but get in the way. I hope to get up to my buddy's machine shop next week and make a new brake for the front of the cfx that is smaller and sleeker but still allows one to stow the underlever. I like the crown protection but you don't need somethin 1.5"+ in diameter to do that. They really get caught on stuff in the woods.
