Is it just me?
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:35:13 PM »
Guys, I don't know about you, but, I have never had so much enjoyment out of shooting than with my airguns. I have been a powder burner for years. Range fees, cleaning, ammo purchases, trips to the shooting range.....ALL GONE!!!! thanks to the world of air guns. I can come home from a crazy day and have 50 shots through my springer in no time and afterwards I'm much more manageable, Just ask my wife, This has been the best medicine in years and I can't get enough of of it!. A  heart felt "thank you" to you all for this awesome site. Who's with me????

Regards,

Steve

My story is similar:  Lots of firearms now gathering dust.  My marksmanship has improved tremendously.  I can relax banging away in the garage day or night.  Have a 20 meter range in the back yard.  Yeehaw!!  It's like magic.

Same for me,,, the powder burners just sit in the gun safes.  I just can't get enough of shooting and especially small game hunting with my airguns.  Using the air guns for small game has also served to make me a better hunter by forcing me to hone my hunting and shooting skills.   The other great thing is all the wonderful people I've come to know and call friend  :)

Totally. Im the same way...some time in the backyard shooting can really clear one's mind at the end of a long day. Plus no more range fees and over priced ammo.

I like to shoot them..hunting even more so..
but I think I get the most enjoyment from
rebuilding them....the only problum with that is
I need to keep buying guns to tinker with...

I'm with ya..  It's turned into a great bonding experience with my stepdaughter (8)..  She's turned into such a great shot, as well as being the range master and safety officer  :)

YES, IT IS JUST YOU

:D I think it's a case of the best of both worlds. Before air guns, I did have to schlep to the range. Now, if I feel like it, I can just shoot - rain, shine, hurrincanes.......well, no hurricanes  :) I also like to collect and the air guns have kept my gun-bank balance nicely depleted. Probably have more in the AG's than firesticks!

Same situation here.  I have both and enjoy shooting both but by far, my AG’s get more attention.  I can shoot  them just about anytime, in or around my house with very little prep time and a fraction of the cost it takes shooting my powder burners.  Shooting airguns relaxes me and satisfies my trigger finger.  Viva la airguns!

I think you all have a problem:  you don't have enough guns! :D  Tell them your forum friend Atchman says so.  When I started out on here last summer, I had an old Daisy pumper and my 1971 Sheridan Blue Streak.  I've bought Whisper, Air Hawk, RWS 350, TF 89, and a Titan!  There are still some out there I  would love to own!

I do want to thank you guys for the online company and friendship.  When I was laid up with my ear surgery I got to live in my mind through all of your hunting exploits, target exploits and see how bad many of you have got it.

I participate in a lot of online forums for my other hobbies.  This one is by FAR the nicest and most courteous.  :)
