Killed a rotten orange...
« on: February 14, 2010, 06:31:59 AM »

Seriously....just a rotten orange!!!! heh heh Found a couple of rotten oranges in the corner of the refrigerator....bought before Christmas. On the wayto throw them out...but thought, "Why not use them for target practice?".

Shot off of a front bag rest with a .177 Gamo Viper at 50 yards distance. Only hit it 4 times out of 30 shots due to 15 to 40kph wind gusts. Changed over to the Air Arms S410SL carbine....the .22's whacked the orange 1/2 of the time. Used 1/2 power and shot 40 times so 20 hits.

Most of the shots were pass-throughs.....but did dug out 12 pellets (1 .177 and 11 .22) from the orange. Used Crosman Premier Hollow Points in both calibers. None expanded....but a few were damaged when hit by other pellets.

Gamo: Expotec .177 + Big Cat .177 + Viper .177 + Whisper .177, Hammerli Titan .177, Diana model 24 .177, RWS-Diana P5 Magnum pistol .177, Crosman: G1 Extreme .177 + Storm XT .177 + Sierra Pro .177 + 1377 pistol .177, Air Arms S410SL .22, BSA Scorpion T10 .22, FX Cyclone .177, Remington Air Master 77 .177 + BB\'s,

Yes, and especially when cornered.  You were fortunate they didn't maul you when you got them from the fridge.

Bad orange, that one. Never know when they'll turn on you like that. Best you got the upper hand when you did, whot? Deucedly nasty little things when they go bad. Do be careful. Pips, you know. Can sprout come Spring. Catch you unawares and all that. What did you use, old boy, wadcutter? What cheer!

Now that I have evidence of your cruelty,  I am going to report you to the SPCO.   Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Oranges.  What depravity.

Do ya'll even need refrigerators in Montreal this time of year?

Killer tomatoes. Yes. Damn things cross with the oranges and we'll be in trouble. Thick skin and all. Have to use hardened pellets. Cursed Vegans. I blame it all on them. Where is the planet Vega, BTW?

Kill the males, I say. No bucks, no fawns. If you see one like this in your garden this summer, pot it!!!!!
