[[SOLD]] Crosman NPSS- .22 cal
« on: February 24, 2010, 11:59:59 AM »
I've posted this before and only had requests to ship it locations I was not completely comfortable with.
So please, if you are interested in the rifle, please be sure you can LEGALLY receive shipment before responding.
Basically, if PA won't ship it to you, chances are that I won't either.

Seems to shoot hard and consistent but like with every springer I try... I find it to be rather hold sensitive.
I will try to put a few shots over the chrony tonight and post the numbers.

If you exclude the endcap the metal is 85-90% with a couple of small surface scratches and evidence of the scope being mounted and remounted a few times, stock is as new as far as I can tell. the Camo printing is imperfect around some edges/curves but it's NOT damaged or peeling. (see update)

The endcap is damaged. 100% useable but damaged enough that it could effect accuracy. This will need to be replaced or resurfaced.

I will include the scope that came with the rifle and an appropriate mount but please note that the scope is ring-dented so this is a freebie. If you don't want it, please be honest as it's on the son's springer right now and he thinks it's cool.

Looking for $170 shipped CONUS
Paypal Prefered, I eat the fees. MO is okay too, just slower.
I can provide references on other sites.

I will have more detailed pics available shortly. I will post a few but feel free to ask for specific shots.

...edited to stop the wide screen effect :-)

First -
Had the Combro out so I ran a few shots through it
Took a few shots to warm it up then -
JSB 16.1's    685,685,681,688,687.
CPHP's         731,733,731,729,730.
Ran a few JSB 18.1's through it and they jumper around from 618 - 630. Too heavy maybe????

Second -
I took a close look at the stock, there are spots on the sharp edges in the slot where the camo finish is warn off. This is limited to the edges in the slot and did not show up when I just tried to get a picture.

I would like to move this one but too low on the price and I'll box it up for a year or 2 until one of the kids is old enough to handle it.

I'm the second owner. Prior owner said that he wanted to see how the shroud was constructed, or if it was baffled or something like that, basically curiosity.  He messed up with the allen wrench then used pliers on the edge of the endcap. He said it came off very easily once he got the endcap lose.  Then I stepped in.... I tried to remove it without doing more damage. I was going to put it on the drill press and clean up the hole then sand and paint. I failed (obviously). At the time I figured I'd just pick up a new one but then the rifle sat for months. I just pulled it out a week ago while cleaning the closet. After starring at it a while I decided to either sell or box it up for another year until the oldest boy might be big enough to try it.

Problem (for me as a seller and for any potential buyer) is that I have not found a source for a replacement endcap. I need to call crosman for some other items and will ask again.
I will try pics again in the daylight, the peeling did not show at all under the basement lights. At a minimum I can show you where I'm talking about. I'll be back in about 2 hours with pics.

After seeing this post I contacted Kim @ Crosman. Just got a reply. The shroudpart # isELS-008 and cost is $11.43 + $4.00 shipping. I love the price of Crosman parts.

If someone buys it or you keep it, give her a buzz at (800)724-7486 and pick up a replacement.

I totally dropped the ball on this AGAIN.

Bumping this to see if there is still interest. I have more pictures that I will post shortly.
SDale has preference if still interested.

I'll do $145 shipped CONUS if I can keep the scope (with the ring dents you probably wouldn't want to use it anyway).
Stay tuned for more detailed pics.

Tried to get a few detail shots of the imperfect finish. You can see it's wrinkled and a little spotty around some of the edges. Most of this is from the manufacturing process but I'm sure it's gotten a bit worse with use.  You can also see some of the nubs have turned black presumably from the finish wearing as it was used.  Third pic shows both an edge that I think wore and a spot that was missed at the factory.  Forth pic shows the scratches I mentioned. In the last pic i was was trying to show other spots, inside the stock alongside the barrel that are missing finish but the shadow washed them out. Also, tried to crop the pic to remove my ugly foot but I kept getting the original pic, if it's still there, please excuse my sock (at least it's clean).
