Where to fill a tank in Los Angeles?
« on: February 26, 2010, 03:55:49 PM »

I'm thinking about semi-retiring my Hill hand pump and get a carbon fiber tank for my newly acquired .22 S410ERB. Not sure where I can get it filled, what the cost is for each fill and how many refills I can get out of a 88 tank, and of a 44 tank. Work in Long Beach, and wouldn't mind drive a little once a while. Thanks for any tips! Happy shooting!

Well the carbon fiber tank will give you plenty of fills at 4000 psi...:) on your AA. And if you live or work in Long Beach I am sure you will not have a problem finding a Scuba Shop near...:)

I just browsed Air Source website, and am not sure about the type of gas/tank that I need. Could you elaborate? Thanks so much. SoCalFan

Have you already bought/own a tank? If not you'll have to decide which tank to buy, steel, aluminium or carbon fiber. Each has it's pros and cons.

I'm leaning towards a CF tank for its light weight and higher number of refills (how many refills typically for an 88"?) thanks ! Again, I'm open to any good advice...

Thanks for the link, Nathan. Extremely informative site...do you have to know the cylinder size of the AA S410erb?

Nathan, I called Air Source in Long Beach, and got quoted for about $38.00 for a fill ( 80CF 4500PSI). Is that a typically charged price? I was thinking it's about $5-10...
