Ray,
".... Thats when my scope started and went down hill from there. I shot over 1000 pellets through it. but, now its just junk. I just dont know what scope to buy now. ...........'
I hear ya. Seems like for everyone saying a scope is great, there'll be another telling of the problems with his. Just seem hear about fewer problems with the more expensive scopes.
My Leapers 3-12x44 mini swat, which was one of the more expensive of their line, died after about 1000 pellets, but Jeff (LongIslandhunter) has had very good luck with a bunch of Leapers that are less than half what I payed for mine ... even on some of his magnum springers. He can tell you which model they are.
I think my Leapers had too much of it's money put into bells and whstles, and not enough into strength. In low to mid price range of scopes, it could very well be that the old saying, "Simpler is better" holds true.
Alternative is to move up to more expensive scopes.
After a nice long talk with their tech person, I would have put a Sightron 3-9x32 rimfire scope (50 ft parralex setting) on my Whisper by now but everyone's sold out of them. For now, I have an old, spare Bushnel 3-9x50 Sportview from my 12ga slug gun on the Whisper, and so far (knock on wood) it's holding up.
Paul.
