25 condor
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:37:24 AM »
Changed the barrel and stricker from a .177 to a 25 caliber and heavy stricker from Anthony . Left the .177 springs in the condor valves so I can change back to .177  in 10 minutes if I want . Not after the most powerfully 25 . Want a accurate 65 yard shooter in a 10 mile a hour wind . Swaged some 38 grain bullets . PSI is 2700 on these strings . Just starting to dial the 4 tanks I have in . But I do like the shoot count and the FPS. should do what I want . Will continue to try different settings as time allows if this does not seem to work well .Marvin

Very nice.   If I ever decide to go the .25 route I think I'll get a .25 barrel for my .22 condor.   Looking forward to hearing how it performs in the field at the distances and conditions you spoke of....

Started filling the tanks at home and taking them to the range . Has made some difference in energy but not much . Today I used a 2800 fill and P.W. setting of 4 . Same 38 grain bullets . Two tanks with 5 bhn and two with 10 bhn bullets . Before the wind came up I could see the 10 bhn bullets are not going to group well . Next week I will try a 2900 fill to see if I can get a little bell curve . At 2800 fill I can get 17 good shots before the poi drops off . I will also swag some 5 bhn bullets and test them and the 8 bhn bullets for accurcy if the wind is not to bad . Marvin

30 plus mph winds so no accuracy test were done . Upped the fill to 2900 psi  P.W. 4 , 38 grain bullets . Tank 1 and 2 6.75 bhn and 3 and 4 8.5 bhn bullets . Looks like I might get 20 good shots before the poi drops off . But I need the wind to calm down . Will try a 3000 fill with no other changes next .Marvin
