What velocity numbers are you getting with ...(PICS ADDED)
« on: March 14, 2010, 07:57:45 AM »
Your RWS 350 Magnum, Pro tuned, DIY tuned, stock or Vortek PG2 equipped? I just pickup a RWS 350 Magnum Feuerkraft Pro Compact .22cal. I installed a Vortek PG2 kit in it, I installed it in 30 minutes, and the shooting cycle is not as harsh and way smoother than I thought it would be. The only point I have reservation on is the velocity of the kit. She is chronying ,very consistant I my add, at low of 773fps to 806fps,using Crosman Ultra Magnums 14.30gr. I thought it should be shooting a little higher at 825 to 875fps. What are your thoughts, are my numbers correct, or am I reaching too far........Bill

I don't have the PRO model,  but I do have the 350M.22. I'm getting 835 - 845 w/ 14.5 grn.

What pellets are you using? If your using 14.3 grn or around there...your numbers look good.

For a Mag I think it look's good and as brother Gene mentioned some are lower and some higher. Airguns have their own temperament and even the some model's,cal's can show different fps before and after a tune. You tune one and it shoot's 800fps and then tune another of the same model and it shoot's 750fps, the way of the airgun. :o  :) Ed

Those are the number I'm getting with my 350 Magnum, with the Vortek Pro Guide 2, shooting 14.3 grain pellets.  Tell you what though, I put 5 pellets into the same hole on a 2x4 and those 5 pellets split the 2x4 in half (the 2x4 was only about a foot long).  It's still got some power, but consistency is much improved.

Ran some more pellets thru the Feuerkraft this past weekend and now I am comfortable with the results. Beeman FTS 14.60gr, Low 782fps, High 795fps Average 788fps, Extreme spread 13fps, 20.14fpe, Benjamin Discovery HP 14.30gr, Low 798fps, High 818fps,Average 807fps, Extreme spread 20fps, 20.68fpe,RWS Meisterkugeln WC 14.00gr, Low 817fps,High 826fps, Average 821fps, Extreme spread 9fps, 20.96fpe.I think when she settles down and finds her own niche she will do a bit better. Right now I can not complain with these numbers.......Bill

Bill,

It should take about 100 shots for the PG2 to settle in.  I'll have to recheck my numbers but I think I gave up about 15-20fps.  Was there much preload on your 350?  I think a stock spring on M34 had about 3" and with the PG2 less than an inch.  Part of geting the smooth cycle includes giving up a few fps I would guess.

The PG2 is pretty nice isn't it?

Andy

mine was shooting 840-845 fps w/ 14.3 cphp's after i re-installed the PG-2.  it was shooting 830-840 w/ stock spring.   those meisterkugens act strange through my pro-compact 350, too.   it was getting 868 fps w/ the stock spring and about 850 w/ the kit.   the factory spring was just beginning to break in when i slapped that kit in it (i love it when those 350's break in well - about 1200 pellets.   it's like a labor of love at first - then rapture).    i'm kinda vexed w/ it now, and i need to call tom gore again - or just send mine in.    i picked it up after about a month and now mine's shooting exactly like yours - a very consistent 775-780 w/ cphp's.   that special lube they send seems to be the ticket.  macarri lube didn't seem to jive well w/ these kits.  i just slapped the other kit in my .177 diana 36 - didn't have time to fine tune it.  it now shoots a constant 852-854 fps w/ 7.9 cphp's - was shooting 915-930 w/ a brand new stock spring.    these dianas are now my favorite guns to shoot - smooth and accurate.   maybe i'm getting over my velocity/power trip......must be gettin' old.              it's gonna be hard to send my 350 off to rehab.   - paul.

Pulled out the B-28A Maccarri sprung shooter and put a few through the chrony. And guess what,....I think it's time to replace the coil!!!! LOL's  Seems like I'm starting to get a good collection of "spent" springs!!!!! I'd like to try the PG2 system, but until I get the HW-80 paid off, the $15 factory spring replacement will have to do. tjk
