Marauder reservoir volume?
« on: March 13, 2010, 03:10:29 PM »

I am looking forward to purchasing a Marauder in the near future. I have a Scuba tank lined up and have ordered a yoke adapter and fittings to fab up a filling station for a PCP.

I am trying to get my mind around how many fills I can get out of a scuba tank at a given pressure. I can calculate the approx. amount of fills I can expect if I knew the volume of the tank on the gun. Anyone have any idea? I have dug around this website and on Crossman website and I cannot find any specific information on this.

If nobody knows the volume, perhaps some of you can tell me approx. how many fills you get out of your set-ups with say an 80 cu. ft. tank @ about 3200-3300 psi.

Hi Brian, welcome to the GTA.  Here's a link that might be helpful to you.  http://www.airhog.com/tank.htm

Sorry I can’t help you DoubleDiamond. Gun tank volumes must be top secret. I just bought a AA S400 and was looking all over the web for the tank volume. I found three different numbers.

You starting pressure and at what pressure you refill the gun at will determent how many fills you will get per tank.

Good luck and maybe somebody will chime in with a volume.

Yes, top secret indeed. Perhaps the majority of folks do not care what the volume is. I guess I can track one down and come at a rough estimate from external measurements.

I can gather that the max fill psi is 3000, and the max psi that I can expect to see at the scuba tank is 3300 psi. I do not know what the pressure will be down to at the gun when it needs refilled yet, that will come after experience. I am assuming somewhere around 2000 psi.?

Here is the calculator:http://www.airgunexpo.com/calc/calc_fill.cfm?

You can find your way there buy clicking on Library in green lettering on the left side of this page.
I'm pretty sure the Marauder holds 219cc of air.
At factory setting, 2500psi fill, you will get roughly 50 fills form a 3000psi scuba tank.

I am looking at ordering a Marauder in 22 cal and am wondering if any of you know how may shots you can get out of one before a refill is needed. I know this is a wide open question, so let say with shooting 14.5 grain pellet at about 900 fps and before the fps starts falling to around 860.

30 good shots with stock settings and 2500psi fill pressure.

This gives you an idea of what it does out of the box.

Thanks Rick for the information. Do you also know about how many pumps to get the pressure back to the 2500 psi after those 30 shots?
