Yes. Although the initial investment in the tank and accessories is costly, remember that you will have them for a very long time. I went with a CF tank with a 15 year life. That comes to somewhare around $40+ per year of ownership. Not too costly for all the effort it will save. I'm willing to pay for air to save my middle aged back from pumping to 2900 psi for my S410 and 3000 psi for my Talon SS. I also am able to shoot as much as I want whenever I want without having to strain myself with pumping, wait for the pump to cool and repeat ad nauseum. I also don't have to wait for my heart rate to slow after pumping before I resume shooting. And nowhere is it written that you must abandon your springers because you went Darkside!!

Just my opinion, but a tank is the only way to go if you're going to shoot a lot.

I got to say the same thing Gene said, but with no dive shops or fire house close by, I added a compressor to my set-up.

Pumping is not my cup of tea, in fact I hardly ever shot my Talon SS the first two years (less than 500 shots) I had it because of pumping.

Ray, I have used my two tanks mostly for the Crosman PCP's. 2000-2500 psi fills. And a couple fills for my 3000 psi Air Arms. I would guess over 20 fills at least so far and I am still filling my Crosman PCP's to 2000-2500 psi. I think both tanks are now down to 2700 psi. Almost time to get them refilled...:) I keep air in my larger volume PCP's all the time when not using them but this last summer I was filling my Maurader, and Disco allot with the two tanks. It makes a big differnce on the length of fill hose you use also. I use the 12"micro borehose. Alot less bleedoff waste with shorter and smaller diameter hose.

This may sound a little strange, but I use the Marauder or Discovery to regain my confidence that it's the rifle and not the shooter(or vice versa) to blame for bad groups.  What I mean is that I love to shoot the springers...but when my groups degrade, i pick up the Marauder or Discovery.  Usually, I find that my shooting is pretty good, but it's the idiosyncrasies of springer or gasser (if you will) that are causing the groups to widen.  Sometimes I can't hold a group with the M or D...meaning it's time to stop shooting for the day.

Hey Cap I have been in the same boat as you...:) When I used to shoot allot I would have those times when I jsut could not shoot springers worth a hoot so I would pick up one of my PCP's and regain my confidence real fast...:) As I get older I have found that when I have gass real bad my shooting is way off...:) Must be the wind that throws the shots off..:)

Ha Haa...Hee Hee...I have my share of gas too...from these medications I have to take now days.  Maybe that's what it is.  Wonder why the gas only affects the springers though...kinda odd. No wind in the basement to blame it on...but the dogs do pass gas allot (I blame it on them all the time).   All I really know is the Marauder or Discovery is immune to gas or what ever it is that causes wild groups.  Sure am glad I have them...helps me keep my sanity and keeps my motivation level high.  Once I get confident I can aim worth a hoot, I'll go back to the springers, change my holding technique, etc. and try to get them back under control.

It's not the dumb rifle but the dumb shooter behind the rifle that's the problem I think.
