Welcome Brock,

The Trail XL uses the Walther Talon-Hunter seal here;

http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/catalog/item/251485/6616786.htm
Maccari also has the moly lube, and you can get silicone grease at your autoparts stores. It's usually called "dielectric grease" and it's  used on sparkplugs and electrical connections to waterproof them.

If you look back through the last few pages here in the Crosman-Benji section, you'll come across info from those who've swapped out the seals in their Xl's,  and what they've came across in doing so. Otherwise do the same as you would with a regular magnum Springer tune, except you won't need to use a spring compresser with the XL. There's alot on tunes in the Library.

Paul.

Brock,
The seal and chamber, it's all covered in posts and in the library info mentioned.

Welcome Brock,,,nice to have you with us.  Paul already gave you the info you need, I just wanted to welcome you.  I too have a .22 XL and I love mine, absolutely fantastic hunting rifle.....

Clean the barrel really well if you haven't already, that should help end the smoking....  If that doesn't work then perhaps the seal is damaged and lube is getting in front of the piston,, in that case you know what to do.   Mine stopped smoking  after around 50 or 60 pellets.

Will this seal also fit the Super Streak, since I've heard the Super Streak is the same gun as the NP XL?  I'm about to convert a Super Streak to a gas ram gun as soon as I get ahold of my friend's gun.
