Ten thousand pellets later I noticed some spring twang... What a CDT tune gone bad after two years... hehe...No, just one heck of allot of pellets and a couple mods on this S1K and she was ready for a lube tune..

This was my very first Air Rifle...

I will never sell her cause she taught me how to shoot.. hehe.
I weaned my trigger finger on this sweety.. hehe.. By the way this is the S1K that I did the L/W choked .177 cal. barrel mod on about 6 months back... Also this is the one I just did the new brake and shroud mod on as well...
Last nigh after I had finished the brake and muzzle shroud, I decided to go ahead and check out CDT's two year old Turbo Tune.. I got out my trusty spring compressor and removed the bolt and pin and released the spring very slowly. By the way guys.. you do not have to remove trigger untill you have taken all the tention off the spring... I cleaned everything up and laid it out on my bench.. The seal was still in perfect condition, the spring was still straight but had thrown alot of the original Turbo Tune tar off.
After carefully inspecting everything and all the cleaning was done I started to apply 4 different types of grease to certain places as I was taught by CDT.. There really is a science in the order of types of grease that goes on each piece.. But anyway I got everthing ready to put back to gether and it went very smooth.. Not one hitch..

Took me about an hour for tear down and reasymbly.. Of course I did not have to do any grinding, honeing, spring or guide work to this S1K, because it all had been done by CDT two years ago..
Before I did this lube tune I was around the low 800 FPS. and the same numbers when I was done...

The reason why this S1K has such low FPS numbers is because of the L/W Choked barrel..
So no it was time to do some paper shooting..

favorite thingy.. hehe.. So I tried to reset the scope but was having trouble with windage setting.. There was virtually no wind at this time but it was shifting from right to left on me. After inspecting the scope and mounts etc. I decided to take a look at how snug the breech was to the action.. Well I found the problem... Ran to Harbor Freight and picked up an impact screwdriver for this job.. Something was worn because I could get about 10 thousands play where the breech connects to the action with a screw and bushings.. I got the screw out and pulled the barrel and beech from the action. It just slipped out and normaly you have to fight with it to get them appart.. I found that the washers that go on either side of the breech between the bushing were worn out.. they were falling to pieces or deteriorateing. I guess after 10,000 plus pellets something should wear.. hehe
I just happened to have a spare breech bushing and washers. I replaced the bushing and washers and back together she went. It was a struggle this time to get it together with the newer parts..

All done and right to my shooting bench.. Been shooting Beeman FTS and Gamo Tomahawks in this one, so I picked up a tin of Tomahawks and loaded one up.. First shot off to the left.. Adjusted scope and next shot, Bullseye..

Now I am a happy camper..

My first love is almost like new again..
