100 + shots per fill
« on: May 01, 2010, 07:29:35 PM »
The only prob with PCPs is the limited shot count...
And thats a pain in the a$$ when yer a hours walk from
yer car & fill gear...

Well not know more...
The beginning of my 25/30fpe 100+ shot per fill PCP...
it will hold 53ci / 860cc of air in a single tank front mounted
with a 1600psi valve...

So far I have roughed up the breech valve & hammer block
The tank is 80mm in dia so there had to be a big space between
the barrel & valve placement...also room for a 32mm dia shrould.....
The bolt handle will fold into the slot under the breech when closed...
When open the bolt will completely clear the loading port....

the block is  170mm x 80mm x 25mm 6061 T6 alloy

Nice bit of machining there Pete! Do you intend to make the whole thing or will you buy certain bits like the trigger group? Which ever you choose, I would love to see the progress of this particular project! Good skills!

Hi...

weight wise..the tank/valve weighs 2.7lbz
at a quess under 7 lbs all up...

barrel & pistol grip will be crosman..
Valve will be a B&A Boss valve...
But I will try a Crosman 22XX valve first
mite give enough power and save on air..

shady..I made a breech in a 7x14 mini lathe
bit of peeing around but it can be done...

Hi..

Just had a thought....
wheres it writen that the valve has
to be at the front & hammer in the back..?

So if I turned every thing around I could still
feed the tank directly into the valve but
 have a rear tank/butt...And use a 48ci tank
thats only 200mm long...
And it would keep the weight of the big tank close
to yer body..lighter feel...

*_*_*_*_*_* it..don't yer just hate when yer
design changes half way though a project...
