Just the same old thing.
« on: May 02, 2010, 01:24:07 PM »
I feel like I may be boring you guys with the same old pictures, but here a few more. I wish I had something a little more exciting to show you, like the MONSTER ground hog Harry shot or a country rat like the one Ed popped the other day or even a big pile a pigeons like Doug can stack up. But my targets are limited to flying vermin. I haven’t even had a crack at squirrel in the last day or two. The wind was blowing so hard today most of the birds around the farm weren’t moving around to much this morning, but I was able to scratch up a few shots.

While I was down at the farm this morning my daughter and I saw a calf being born, my little girl likes to go down and play with day old calves while I keep the birds moving. Well that little calf was on her mind all day so this afternoon while me, my wife and little girl were out picking wild asparagus we decided to swing by the dairy and show mom the little bugger. And wouldn’t ya know it, no wind and birds everywhere. I mean those dang things were out sitting on every fence post and all over on the corn pile, and me with out a gun. Oh well I guess they deserve a break, we walked the farm and helped feed calves then went in and showed the family the milking process. I worked on dairy farm for several years and even milked for the guys family that owns this farm now. I had a great day out with the family and the weather is finally starting to improve. Hope all you guys had good weekends too. Now to same boring old pictures.

Hey, hunting is hunting and it's all fun.  Good shooting and keep the pics coming.  I'd take a few long range high skill shots over "shooting fish in a barrel" so to speak.

Just keep 'em coming Dave.  We don't get tired of them.  You have quickly become one of the top bird hunters here in a short time.  If that's all you got, that's what you shoot, and you are good at it.  I personally love pics of dead Grackles :)   I 've taken a few myself this year but didn't have time to take pics of most of them.  Had to go to work and had no time, but nothing like you.  You are on a roll and helping rid the farm of the vermin at the same time.

Hey I just took notice to the meaning of your GTA name.  You are seeking fur!  hehehe.  How appropriate since you 're shooting a lot of feather.  If you want to get bigger or fury critters badly, do like I do.  Put lots of food out, and they will come.. eventually  :) and if you have the time to sit and wait or the will to get out of bed, you 'll get a few.  I know, easier said than done..
That works for most fur except for groundhogs btw, hehe.

Airguns with their fallen prey are never boring.  Great shots and keep on whacking them.
