Gone nutz
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:56:59 AM »
I guess I am going nuts on old style Gamo's. I couldn't  resist when I got a flyer from Natchez that offered yet another wood and steel Gamo from the past for a bargain price so in addition to the 220 reman'  I picked up a few weeks ago I added a new in the box 890 in .177 for $109. I really am a sucker for price cuts like this. I got it Monday and I was more than pleased. It was in perfect condition and I think that's remarkable because the manufacturing code, if I am reading them correctly is 1999. The stock looked a little, I guess dry but it responded to a Rem-oil wipe down and now truly looks like a new rifle. I took it down and did a de bur and lube tune using the stock parts except for a new Apex seal, put on a older Center Point 3-9X50 I had and like magic it seems I have yet another classic shooter.  I'll do more later like put in a gold trigger. Here are some pic's.

Congrat's on the new riffle.
I had that problem the  other day & I had to shrink it down a couple of
times & then it worked for me.
