Squirrels
« on: May 12, 2007, 08:55:12 AM »
Hey guys,
I'm currently approx. 425 miles away from home,,,, my oldest daughter just graduated from college and the wife and I are up in Geneseo NY to attend the ceremony and of course pack up the daughter along with all her belongings and bring her home.   The standing joke about this college is that it's the squirrel capital of New York  and by the number of tree rats running around this place the joke is true.  I've never seen so many squirrels running around one place in my entire hunting life, and here I am with not an airgun in sight.  They are running around here in little squirrel "herds" of 5 and 6.  It's amazing.  My trigger finger keeps quiviering bu I got no trigger to pull  :(     I did drive to Wally world yesterday and almost bought me a Crosman G1 EXtreme, but the only one they had was a returned rifle with the box already ripped open. I tried to get the manager to give me a discounted price, but he wasn't going for it so I didn't buy it.  It did feel good to hold and shoulder though so as soon as I get home I'm driving to the nearest wallworld and buying one to fool around with.

Anyway, just wanted to say howdy to everyone,,, and of course tell you about all the tree rats.  Ed,,, you and me have to hook up and make a huntin visit to Geneseo sometime,,, we'll knock em dead...... literally.   Take care guys, be back on the forum in a couple of days.     My daughter let me use her laptop to make this post but after we move her out of the dorm in about an hour we're "offline" until we get home.

Jeff,
I don't know whether to say congratulations, for your daughter graduating college, or I'm sorry that she's moving back home.hehe You should have bought that rifle and shot a few of them rats. Wal mart has a great return policy if anything was wrong with it, or not.

I'm warming up the rig buddy, let's thin the herd hehe. I don't know if I would be able to stand it, watching all those squirrel's without crosshair's on em. You would be bailing me out of the slammer, after you grab the game of coarse. Congrat's on your daughter graduating too. Now were was I, oh that's right crosshairs on squirrel's hehe. Ed

OK guys you have to quit this, I have a airgun now but my wife's
daughter is graduating next in Charleston,SC.  My house (one I
had before I got married) is full of them things.  I have to drive
45 min to get to it from my wife's house.  And limb rat is not in
season for hunting now, I like to eat them also.  The ones I am
removing from the house I have to trap or decon or airgun.

They hide and you have to be careful and sometimes wait
a long time for them to show.  They give their selves away
because they EAT the rafters in the attic.  Open sights is
all I have now.  But wait a week or so.   shadow picture this,
up through the scuttle hole, lay at the center of the house
on a board, wait and hope enough of them shows to nail.
That is how I got here on the forum, those darn limb rats!!
I have some holes in the soffet that I have closed up with
metal that are as big as my hand where they have ate the
wood.

Hay Jeff,

Congratulations on your daughters graduation from collage ! I hope she finds a nice cushy job, and the man of her dreams now.

I sure would hate to communicate with you boys from your jail cells, cause that's were you'll be if you go within 5 miles of a school, even with a pellet gun ! And Ed, with your luck there will be millions of squirrels and rabbits running all over the place, just outside the electrified fence !

Hope your all home safely Jeff, and stop thinkin bout those squirrels !

Well, we arrived back home last night, good to be back home so I can caress my airguns once again.  Nice to have my daughter home again,,,,, we are so proud of her, she worked hard and graduated with top honors.  And,,,, the other good thing is that it's one less tuition payment each month,,, WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I"m hoping that the savings will translate into more freedom to buy more airgun stuff,,, but I'll have to work on that with the wife.

Now that I'm home again I can get back to the business at hand..... Gonna hit the duck farm tomorrow and do a little pest control.  I'll be sure to post some pics of the hunt..........
