Shadowmatic?
« on: May 15, 2007, 04:10:49 AM »
I'm not really into Gamo's, but I'm leaning more towards getting one now since I've been here on GTA.

I was wondering what the difference between the Shadow & Shadowmatic are??? Is it just the automatic safety?

Pro's & Con's of the Shadowmatic?

No, the automatic pellet loading system. All "matics" do that...sortof.

Aaaaah, I see. I figured it was just the safety. How well does the Auto Loading mechanism work on these???

Don't know. I wanted a shadowmatic, but I bought a Weihrauch HW90 for a lot more money instead :) I stopped researching gamo "matics" after that. All I know is that you need to be careful which pellets to choose. Flatnosed seem to work best, because the mechanism is tube based. Also the length of the pellet matters.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Ya like Polar said. it has a tube that you put like 10 pellets in. The tube has a spring behind the pelllets and pellets feed in the port each time you cock it.. One problem...:) You can only use one kind of pellet....:) They don't mention that I don't think. Wadcutters.... If you try to load anything else they get hung up..:)

My suggestion...:) Get a S1K in your favorite caliber or a Hunter 440 from Natchez for $119.00, debur it, give it a good lube and by a CDT GRT-III trigger and you will be very surprised how nice it turns out and shoots..:)

But I am Prejudice....:) cause I only own like 9 of the Gamo's...:)

I don't have any experience with the shadowmatic, but I would not want one. It only takes , what 2 seconds to load a pellet after you cock the rifle and with a matic, you have to use this pellet, not for me. Just my penny though.

I have one.... you don't want one. The one that I have has less than 20 shots through it. It shoots well and a good gun but yes, you can for the most part use only wadcutterts in them.
