I have the MendozaRM600 in .177.  It is built by a 90 year old family business to RWS specifications. The power is bone crushing with a 10.6 Kodiak.  Quality is unsurpassed and I have shot the RWS 350 which the 600 is a copy of.  I think they sand bag the velocity and ft lb #'s so as not to step on the RWS 350.  [As told to me by several knowledgable beopl in the business]
Of course it it high powered and not the perfect comp. target rifles, but it is accurate.  I can stack shots on top of eachother at 25 yards.  It is not a toy and does not look like one.  Fairly loud though.

I have the MendozaRm600 in .177. Mendoza is a 90 year ol company in Mexico and manufactures there rifles to RWS specifications.  Several people have told me it is an RWS 350 copy.

The .177 shooting the 10.6 gr Kodiak has bone crushing power.  It will also reach out to 80 yards [shooting sticks / leaves at the lake].

I'd go with the .22 if I could do it over.  The dual barell is a gimmick.  So is the 2003 multi shot.  If you notice all three are rated at 900 fps in .22.

Best

Are you sure about the 600 being a 350 copy? That'd make it a heckuva bargain if it is...

There's several reviews on reviewcentre.com under Mendoza. They seem to be well liked.

BB, the guy running pyramidair.com/blog doesn't think so highly of them, though. He recommends the MP513 over the RM600.

Hey Bart

Have you done any more reasearch on this RM-600?  The price for it looks very tempting. Found a .177 for $127.95 new and a .22 for $139.95.  Yes and most reviews I have read campare it with the RSW 350.. Can this be true? It comes with a walnut stock as well. I wonder how the trigger is on it. Have not seen any pros or cons on the trigger.

It seems to me that if it was that great of a rifle that people would be buyin that one for allot less money than the 350.. What is your take on it?

The Mendoza appears to be more pwerful than the RWS 350. Mendoza is a Mexica Co. since 1910. They make their rifles to RWS specs and carry the RWS stamp. I think they sandbag the #'s so as not to step on the RWS 350.

My Mendoza .177 only wants to shoot heavy pellets like the Kodiak. The trigger pull is light and consistant. I can shoot a 12.7 mil. [1/2"] group at 30 yardswith a Busnell Banner scope.

Scroll down to Mendoza.

I am very happy I researched enough to buy one. Except I'd get the .22. Don't get the dual barell or the multi shot. The Rm600 in .22 is the way to go.

I have no idea why more people don't own this rifle.

Cheers

Hey thanks for you info MadMax. It seems that Mendoza has taken a bad rap in the past for being non servicalbe. I don't know this first hand but have heard allot of horror stories. Can you add to this?

It does seem kinda strang that the Mendoza RM 600 sells for less than half of an RWS 350 and suppose to out perform them. There is not much info about on the internet on this particular model of Mendoza that I can find. Do you have other sources available on design compared to the RWS 350.. Also does the RM 600 have scope rails?

Thanks

I can't get to that airgundb link...

...it seems to be down at the moment. If memory serves, though, it listed the Mendoza as shooting 30gr pellets at 1100fps.

If so, this is utter nonsense. A VERY strong springer puts out over 20ft-lbs of energy. These numbers have the Mendoza doing 80.

Don't believe evrything you read!

Well it was only one guy, and he posted the same results three times.:-(

I know it is a bone crusher from experience. Much more so than my Quest 1000, which is weak in comparison.

Of course that is anecdotal and I’d like some empirical info.

Ya Vince, I can not seem to find a whole lot of info on the RM 600, such as pellets used, fps break down etc.

OK - but is your Quest...

...reasonably healthy? When mine (in .177) was new, it was doing 830 or so. After a new (stock) spring and seal - and lots of break-in - it's about 100fps faster than that now!

One test you might be able to do is this - shoot both into a hunk of wood like a 2x4 at close range using the same pellet. Do maybe 3 shots each. Then use a piece of wire (like a paper clip) to measure the penetration. Any significant differences in power oughta show up that way...

Of course get theRM600 in.22, Mine is .177 and it only wants to shoot 10+ grain pellets. Otherwise they tend to go mach 1 and loose control. I’ve found over penetration a problem also. They have a muzzle break [sort of] but are loud.
Do not buy the dual barrel or multi shot. They all have the same power plant. The dual barrel is inaccurate and the multi shot is a gimmick. The one negative thing I heard about the MendozaRm600 is you can get an inaccurate one. 2'nd hand story from my gun shop.

Have a ball

I did do the telephone book comparison vs the Quest 1000.
