Number of people 'online' in various forums.
« on: July 20, 2006, 01:33:57 PM »
GENE:
One of those activities that 'idle minds' get into.
I was crusing around a few forums that I'm acquainted with and found some interesting statistics that are probably known by everyone but me. I looked at Amateur Radio forums, Model Railroading forums, Astronomy forums, etc. and found statistics like: Total Members=3650, members on line=12; Total members=4950, members online=54. The rest were about the same. It seems like most forums average about 1 person on line for every 100 members. That & a buck might get ya a cup of coffee.

I think we are doing great so far and those statistics are interesting. We have come a long ways so far in a short time. We have some great forum members here like yourself. The quality of posts are getting richer and broader. Like Mr Werner says, these things take time to grow....:)

Our forum someday will be shoulder to shoulder to our big brothers over at the Crosman Forum...:)

Thanks for moving this thing to the proper place. I can't believe I screwed that up. :0
Anyway, I don't really know what the significance of those numbers are, I just thought they were kinda interesting.
As you can tell from my e-mail addy I'm involved in amateur radio, go to the off-topic section of one of their forums & you'll find out what 'contentious behavior' is all about. After all, take away all the 'feed line' this & 'amplifier' that & whaddaya have left? talk & CW (morse code) Them 'ol boys can put airgunners in the shade any day, wow! :D
Thanks again,
Mike

I wonder if being "online" in a forum means you are actually actively viewing it or simply logged in.
A lot of people probably do what I do, log in once and never log out...saves time when subbed tomany forums/subjects.
Just curious if I am "online" here 24/7 then?

automatically logged in when you come on the forum, provided you set it up to remember you. When you leave the forum you are then automatically logged off. So...no.... you are not logged on 24/7.
