BLM Maps for Southern California?
« on: September 07, 2007, 11:55:56 AM »
I'm trying to find BLM maps that show public lands in or near Los Angeles County (for shooting/hunting purposes).
Or any map that shows the same thing.

So far my internet searches have just gone around in circles.

Does anyone know where I could find such maps? They don't have to be free -- I will pay for them.

Thanks,

Hi,
I went on the web and searched Google with the query "California BLM hunting maps" and there are a ton of sites to search. Here is one list of field offices that you can contact.
Alturas BLM Field Office
Arcata BLM Field Office
Bakersfield BLM Field Office
Barstow BLM Field Office
Bishop BLM Field Office
Eagle Lake BLM Field Office
El Centro BLM Field Office
Folsom BLM Field Office
Hollister BLM Field Office
Needles BLM Field Office
Palm Springs South Coast BLM Field Office
Redding BLM Field Office
Ridgecrest BLM Field Office
Surprise BLM Field Office
Ukiah BLM Field Office

I also suggest you try this link, it appears to have lots of answers: http://www.californiadesert.gov/actinfo.php?act=hu

Your best bet is to contact the local fish and Game department/warden as there is hunting on land other than BLM property/areas they administer. I have a friend or goes fishing almost every week leaving out of the West Covina area and he has found lots of places to hunt based on spending scouting time asking questions. Hope all this helps!
