Lookin good Dano!!!

I've been working on a set too... Well, more like "Thinkin" on a set! LoL

I was thinking I might take the forearm all the way up to the last inch or so from the end of the frame. Sorta Mannlicherish.

Welp my set is a bit longer than standard in the for end area, and definately taller.  My shooting style is resting my left elbow on my chest or knee if sitting, and then I cup the for end with my fingers pointing at the target....so a really long forend isn't needed, but tallish with some cup is most comfy.

Like this:

But the short/flat standard forend on the Talon makes me shoot like this:

So that, and of course style is why I made the cupped "swell" tallish forend for my set.  I'm getting real close to finishing the current set....which I think are going to someone elses Talon...then I will make myself a similar duplicate, I'm pretty happy with the shape:)

Man, am I really that fat?

just finished the final sanding and finishing of my Talon gripset.  I started at 100 grit with an osilating sander and ended up at 800 grit by hand.  The final finish is an oil finish by Steve Corcoran at woodsandwateroutdoors.com....this stuff is good and easy to use.  Anyways, here's the pics (I know, the pics aren't great):

Sure is going to be nice to have a set of these on my MiniSS .hehe. Dan , I keep coming over and  looking at least once a day. This design should make a big difference in the way the Talon handles and points. Oh Dan I forgot to ask, in the first pictures you posted ; what kind of orange bugs y'all got down there in Texas. That one looks like he'd put a hurt on you. hehe  kirby

They will definately improve the feel of the Talon, I have no doubts about that.  They will be done soon enough, well, they are done, I just want to make sure they are done, done!  Should look pretty nice on that Mini-TalonSS of yours.

Funny, Steve Corcoran told me he liked that "heli-bug" more than he liked my grips when I showed him that picture.  Those heli-bugs are hell on the bottoms of your feet when you step on them, but perfectly harmless to young children...go figure.  The only thing worse than the dreaded heli-bug is the small Lego-bug, ever step on one of those at 5a.m. when you are trying to make it out to your kitchen for that first cup of coffee?  You do know that the mosquittos here in Texas are much larger than the heli-bug or the Lego-bug though...those things have been known to carry off small children.

Do your horseflies bite?  Ours do!

Never knew a fly could bite until I moved to Texas.  I saw this bug the other day that I think could probably eat my dog!

A MOSQUITO RAPED A CHICKEN IN A BLUEBERRY PATCH
SEVEN DAYS LATER THE CHIQUITOS HATCHED
THEY GREW UP FAST AND THEY GREW UP MEAN
THEY TORE A BIG HOLE IN THE WINDOW SCREEN
THEY SUCKED ALL THE JUICE FROM A RASPBERRY PIE
THEY CAUGHT UP WITH THE BEAGLE AND THEY SUCKED HIM DRY
THEY TOOK A FEW PINTS FROM ME AND MY MOTHER
THEN THEY FLEW AWAY WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER

WHAT'S THAT NOISE COMING OUT OF THE BLUE
LIKE A SQUADRON OF B-52’S
IT’S A FLOCK OF CHIQUITOS AND THEY’RE FLYING LOW
DEATH AND DESTRUCTION WHEREVER THEY GO
GRAB THE KIDS AND HIDE ALL THE PETS
GET OUT THE GUNS AND THE CHIQUITO NETS
BOARD UP THE WINDOWS AND SANDBAG THE DOORS
WE GOTTA GET READy... GET READY FOR WAR
