I see a couple of fellow squids probably from different generation but still the same. After boot I got luck no more brass for me. I went to the brown shoe side no brass on that side. On the other hand field day took on a whole new meaning.

Instead of polishing brass we got to do stuff like dive fuel tanks and do FOD walkdowns....oh boy!

On the trigger side of things I prefer aluminum, it's tougher and can be anodized different colors....different colors would be good, but I don't care for brass.  What aluminum are they cut from now, 7075?  Tough stuff!

As an MR Brass was allways a treat to machine compared to 304 SS or K Monel.  Did a fair amount of brass polishing back in the day but it was like any other work, they allways had sumthin they wanted done.

Cheers

Lucky for me our birds didn't have fuel cells large enough to dive but FOD WD's were a daily occurrence. FD the Hanger space was a chore though.

Hey Bob,

I have given the topic some thought, If Brass cost more, only a very few Gamo owners will buy them, for esthetic reasons. All the others will go with the cheapest model, just look at all those people buying B-3's ? hehehe

But for real Bob, you have the only GRT (GREAT RELIABLE TRIGGER) in the WORLD !!!!!

I know that I would have paid more, before I knew how GREAT it IS. Now I can't imagine how inexpensive the best Gamo replacement trigger, and other air rifles, is !

If I were thinking of another Gamo, I would order your trigger before I ordered the Gamo ! Just so I wouldn't be faced with there trigger ever again.

If you have some time on your hands, there are a great many air rifles out there that could a good trigger, and only a few springer's triggers, that equal the GRT-III. JMHO

Well I was a metalsmith, but somehow ended up in the midair refueling stores shop.  We hung those midair refueling tanks on A6's and S3's.  Really aren't all that big, but when a high level float switch would die, in I went...I was a real skinny kid until I got fat:)  When I went to work for the airlines I spent quite a few nights inside the wingtanks of Boeing 767's...I could wiggle all of the way to the wing root, where I could flip myself over and move around on my stomach instead of my back.  When I wanted to get out I had to scoot backwards till I got back to the wingroot, then flip over again and squeeze out feet first.  There's actually quite a bit of room inside those heavy jet wings...we had a team that would come out to dive the MD-80's and stuff with skinny wings...no way I was getting in there.

Ok, I have hijacked enough of Bob's post.  Sorry Bob.

I just got my 220 back with the GRT trigger and I like the gold look.  (I haven't had a chance to shoot it, but the trigger feels nice and crisp.)
