Quackenbush Airguns
« on: August 03, 2007, 03:26:42 AM »
I have been fascinated by the large caliber airguns Quackenbush produces. Have any of you folks had any direct experience with them?

Ron,

A few years ago my cousin had one and I shot it some - not sure what the caliber was now, but it was a biggie.  It was awesome and a dream to look at, if you appreciate custom work as I do - true craftsmanship IMO.   If I were to get back into PCP's, I would really enjoying owning one for hunting.  If you want one, you will have to get in line as these are usually built after an order is placed so it will take awhile to get one.  They are pretty expensive but I think competitive in price when you consider custom quality.  There could be a parts and service issue later on, but that is also true with almost any business now days.

Cheers

Three shot DAQ .308 exile trophy group at 100m {109yds}
Bob Dean tuned DAQ .308 exilepushes 310fpe,
and at 123m {135yds}offhand ten shot group in a shifting breeze.
{2 fills, 2 groups of 5 shots}
Some lead I cast with a couple of really big bore slugs that I didn't cast.
The DAQ .457 LA pistol wth 26" barrel pushes 450fpe and weighs about 5lbs
Sherry pounding 4" metal targets at100yds with another Bob Dean tuned DAQ .308 exile
Was that the question? http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u64/3n00n/4-153.jpg" />

Most of those pic's were taken in my back yard and you should have seen shootin' those things. And the smiles...lol... Oh... and the noise. Fortunately I have good neighbors and they are very tolerant of our shooting here. That was a fun day.
