Lube tune

Iam new to the airgun world and I am not a machinist, I would like to lube tune a B-21 that I recently bought . But after reading post here and there it seems like you must be a machinist even to do a poor job .  Iam being a little sarcastic (LOL)  but just would like to learn how these things work. I have  made a spring compressor, ordered a new seal and lube goo kit from Air Rifle Headquraters. I have read the instructions on the tare down , but when I have it apart , what is next ?  I sure hope this is not a stupid question !!!!!

After disassembly clean and degrease everything. Get a brake honeto crosshatch 'break'the compression cylinder surface {where the lube will bed} and be careful to remove all sharp edges {while not injuring yourself}

Then reassemble without damaging the seal or getting tar inside of the chamber {a thin film of silicone will help to install the piston} The Mr Maccarikit is already "premachined" and he does really nice work.

If the seal is "tight" then it can be 'spin'sanded on the piston until it is just a 'snug' fit. Sand a little and check the fit often though. Then thoroughlycleanand degrease again.

Very similar internally to the Diana 34 design as well
