850 AirMagnum Video Review
« on: September 15, 2007, 10:11:46 AM »
I made a video review of the RWS 850 AirMagnum, as I had a couple of hours to kill while up in upstate NY last weekend. Zero budget, no script, and I also ran out of tape while shooting--but I hope that all changes in the future so I can continue to have fun making them.

Here's the link until I can get it on youtube, it's 15 mins long so I gave to break it up because 10 mins is the limit there.

Paul, that was fantastic!. I was ready to order one before the show was finished, very impressive to say the least. Most of us have filled our hollow butt's with memory foam, take's some of the vibration out of springers and give's some weight to the back. You can add or subtract memory foam without any mess. Myself being a camo guy would like to see one of them in camo. :) Again great work, review and vid, I'm sold. Ed

Thanks Ed!

I thought the CamoMaster might want to get his hands on one to mod! Thanks for the info on the memory foam--you mean the Tempurpedic type stuff? Great idea..will have to try that first before I fill that sucker up with liquid foam ;)

LoL..I wasn't sure what gunnoo was either, until I realized I was combining "gonna" with "going to" haha--my Brooklyn accent amuses me greatly.

I know what you mean about accents.

I'm born and bred Texan and I get a real hard time. Especially when I see my cousins from Michigan or California.

Thanks again for an awesome video review. Ever think about doing it more often?

Enjoyed your review very much Paul, excellent job.   I had looked at the rifle a few times online but never really gave it much attention, however after watching your video I may have to take a second look  :)

OMG the most beautiful women on the planet are from Texas. Been there several times.

I'd love to do more AG reports, heck I'd do them for the rest of my life...I should look into getting some sponsorship so I can get my hands on them without breaking the bank!

I have been able to play with Silo's 850 and I really like it. Out of the box his is shootin just a little slower than my MM tuned QB. But what I really like about the 850 is the fact that it has a magazine... and the 88 gram cans are hidden in the forearm stock. For anyone interested you can get the kit gun from umerex for 165 I think refurbed. It comes with the scope and the muzzle brake. And I think the gun only goes for 130. Also according to Roald and the performance of the gun when he came out to my place to shoot it, the hammer spring is the weak link on these guns... Roalds gun started shooting slower when he was up at my place. He did a little research and got a spring to replace it and all is good again. As for the video review this is just an awesome thing here Paul. I like watching hunting shows on the tube and seeing video's of our hobby is just great. I look forward to seeing some more!!!!

I'd like to try out a hammer spring mod on the 850--is there any detailed info out there yet, I've only seen a few pics so far.

GREAT Review Paul,

You covered the 850 very well ! I enjoyed you video very much, and hope that you continue doing these. It certainly didn't seem like 15 minutes to me !!

Perhaps you could start an AirGun Video Magazine ? And perhaps the air gun companies will supply you with the requested models to promote there products. But perhaps NOT, if you are too honest with your reviews...hehe

I know that I would buy them...:')
