Aaaarrrrgggghhh!!!
« on: September 17, 2007, 01:03:48 PM »
Just got my Quest 800X (a .22), and it's got some problems. The bore is off-center (at least in the back), it shoots hard right. With the rear sight cranked almost all the way to the left it's on target, but lining up on the sights like that really feels strange...

There's a bur in the barrel, push a pellet through and you can feel it catch right before the end. The stock is a poor fit, and it's already rubbing the finish off the breach block. And I can't get the scope to focus at 10 yards.

Unfortunately, though, it runs strong and groups well. I'm almost tempted not to send it back. Heaven knows that Crosman has helped me out enough that they don't owe me anything... still, the gun ain't quite right.

Bummer.

Sorry to hear about the bad QC on the Quest, Vince. But I'd think maybe Crosman might want to at least know about it, whether you decided to get it replaced or not.

While the gun may have some issues, Crosman's customer service is second to none. Give them a call and they will take care of you.

Of course, if you bought it locally, you could maybe take it back to the retailer? In the end, Crosman will take care of you.

Mail order. If'n I send it back to Onpoint Firearms, they'll just send it to Crosman. I might as well skip the middleman.

I'm quite familiar with Crosman's CS. Very, very good people up there. That's why I've got 7 Crosman rifles in my closet...

I wouldn't feel bad about sending it back.  You bought the gun expecting it to shoot well, and have the sights and scope (I assume it came as a kit) work.  If crosman failed to deliver on that expectation then exchange the gun.
