My HPA 2250
« on: September 03, 2007, 10:40:40 AM »
Well, finally finished it,welll aleast to this stage, i will order a 2260 tube soon. With a stock 14" bbl.,trigger tune, home made power adj. ,3000psi at 850Psi output,  B&A max-flo valve,i,m getting an 670  Fps average.Using 14.2 RWS super hollow points, they dont go thru a 1/2" plywood at 15 yds, but sure do make a bulge on opp. side . The pistol scope is my new 2X20 Millet, from Midway usa, avery fine quality scope, very happy with it .
Any ideas,on what a 2260 tube will do , for more FPS, shot count is not an issue with me ,this is a hunin gun.

Looks like an easy carry light weight pistol. Tim Miller has put together a few of the 2260 tube boss valvepistols and has been getting mid 20fpe in pistol form or up to high 30fpe levelsusing longer barrelsand 1150reg bottles.

Those Crosmans sure are fun to play with. My 2250 does around 20fpe on bulk CO2 and my 2240 does about 650fps with bulk CO2. They are my main hunting guns. I opted for bulk CO2 for shot count but still get plenty power.

Paul, are you using the stock transfer port?

In .22 caliber, with HPA and the Boss Max Flow valve, a larger transfer port would help out. The stock t-port is tiny, at about 0.125". I'd suggest taking the ports up to 11/64" or 0.172". You could even go a bit larger....... The larger port should show a nice gain in fps.

I use 1/4" poly tubing and do it like this:

I use the 2260 tube. Using HPA, the longer tube can make a big difference in power.

Using 1,000 psi, you should be able to get 800+ fps and over 20 fpe with the 24" barrel.

Thanks Tim, I did open transfer port to 3/16 and used poly tubing, and today i,m going to order the 2260 tube ,i want to keep this as a pistol form ,so i may not get the gains that i could ,but with about 700 to 750 ,i would be very happy.

My mistake, I meant 14" barrel
« Reply #10 on: September 05, 2007, 12:48:47 PM »

Paul, you can easily get 20 fpe using 1,000 psi and the 14" barrel, still keeping it in pistol form. That must've been a typo on my part.......................30 - 40 fpe can be had using the 24" barrel.
