Sand the seal first. If that doesn't help send it back. I did the seal sanding and it turned out just fine. I.e. the seal is a bit too long - the breech does not close all the way - barrel droop.
If some is good and more is better - then too much is just right.

and close the breach - does the barrel still droop? Is it still pointing down when it locks up?
