Coyote with .25 cal airgun?
« on: November 11, 2007, 03:43:33 AM »
Would it be a bad idea to head shoot a coyote with a .25 cal airgun? It shoots Kodiaks with a ME of 51 ft. lbs. Just toying with the idea.

Given the right range and good shot placement, it is doable. Coyote are very tough, wary prey, but are not thick skinned, heavy boned critters.

Possable with correct shot placement, head in the temple area or get a good side shot to place it behind the front leg into the heart but the rib cage may deflect the shot. I alway's look for a good headshot myself. Ed

A close headshot would do the trick.  I have kicked this idea around also.
