Midnight in the grove...again
« on: November 17, 2007, 01:33:44 AM »
11:00pm Friday night everything was ready, TAC1 loaded and myself dressed for the chilly 34 deg. night. I tucked in the wife  :) grabbed the TAC 1 , Predator's and a thermos of java and stepped out into the clear night. I took a moment in my yard to scan the area, looking for moving shadow's in the moonlight. All still so I headed through the gate and silently made my way across the field to just outside the treeline where I held up to get into the hunting Zen mode. I once again settled into my brush blind, poured a cup of java and injoyed the clear night with a owl letting me know that he was hunting also with his calls. Fifteen minutes passed so I switched on the lamp and did a scan of the grove, nothing so off with the lamp and another cup of java and relaxed. With the super hunter out there I knew that I had to stay on the ball so after another fifteen to twenty minutes I hit the lamp again. Atlast eye's reflecting back and without wasting any time I rested the TAC1 across the deadfall in front of me, safety off and crosshair's with red dot planted on the sweetspot. The silence broken by the report and impact I watched him spin and do about five hot lap's in a circle and then roll to his side.I climbed out of my brush blind quickly knowing that the "OTHER" hunter was looking for dinner also and stepped off my yard's briskly. Happy with the 33yrd shot I looked at my watch, 3:25am so I picked up my harvest and said goodnight/ goodmorning to my fellow hunter and headed home. I let him hang in the chill till light and grabbed a pic for my fellow hunter's. Time for alittle nap, going hunting again later hehe. Ed

Thank's Gentlemen, the Predator left a nice hole about the size of eraser head and he bled out pretty good. Gene, get on up here buddy and bundle up hehe. Ed
