Steyr goes hunting
« on: December 09, 2007, 11:58:16 AM »
I took the Steyr out for a quick hunt on Saturday  and bagged 6 rabbits and 4 turkeys. Shot of the day was the pictured turkey, headshot taken at 40m standing. We had the Turkey for lunch on Sunday and boy was it good.

Looks like you had a great day Andre. I had a turkey hunt planned this weekend, but the weather didn't cooperate, too hot. Maybe in a few days, I'll get another chance.

I want to go hunting in New Zealand!  Nice shooting.  Those look like some pretty fat rabbits.

Very nice looking piece off equipment. Must be a great shooter for a headshot at 40 yards. I could always ask Santa for one but my Bank Manager and Santa would not see eye to eye on the price of my "gift" From the reviews i have read those Steyers are state of the art  rifles, and very accurate. My colour is slowly changing to a shade off green!!

Great gun, great shots and pics. Keep on sending them.

Hey Johan. Where in the Rebublic are you? I'm originally from Pietermaritzburg now living in New Zealand. I use the Steyr for target shooting but as I knew what quarry and distances I would be shooting at I decided on taking her. I'm most comfortable with the settings for the distances as she is the gun I shoot the most. I have other guns for other tasks like possum hunting at night. This was the Steyrs first hunting trip and she didn't dissapoint.
