Hammerli Titan vs Beeman SS1000
« on: October 21, 2007, 07:25:54 AM »
I just bought (yesterday) a Beeman SS1000. I will probably return it tomorrow because:
It is too heavy
It seems inaccurate
And, mainly, the trigger pull is the worst of any rifle, pistol, or airgun I've ever owned.  It is extremely hard to pull.  In fact, it pulls easily then you run into a "rock wall" and have to keep squeezing to get the pressure/pounds way up, then it finally fires.  This, I believe, helps cause the innacurracy.  I've read that there's no easy way to adjust the trigger pull which is why I'll most likely return it.

I am thinking of "trading" it for a Hammerli Titan which has almost the same price tag.

Any comments, ideas, or whatever? How does the Titan compare to the SS100 etc?

Best Regards,
Tom

The SS1000 comes in 2 grades: one with a decent trigger and one with a lousy trigger (which you probably got). The one with the good trigger is the same as the Titan, TF89, AR1000, and the Walther Force 1000. Generally speaking most shooters seem pretty happy with that variant.
