check your local W/M
« on: January 25, 2008, 09:54:05 AM »

I was at Wally World today and they have the Daisy Powerline on clearance for $74. I know it's a beast and needs some work to calm down, but then you have a very hard hitting rifle, that is nice to shoot. They also had the Daisy 5693 for $35.

CABELAS had the Gamo's, ShadowSport, Recon, CFX.177 and Hunter. RWS 350MAG, she's hefty and I slobbered all over her and the usual CABELAS brand airgun's. I had to drag myself out of there with just pellet's after three hour's hehehe. Ed

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike. I'm gonna head over to my friendly neighborhood WallyWorld this weekend and see if they've dropped their price; if so, I'll be gittin' a sister for the one I already have.

Probably be a good idea to carry one up to the register so they can scan it to make sure what the price really is. I've heard tale of how sometimes WM drops their price on an item, but the stockpersons don't know to re-price them on the shelf.

When at Wally World don’t forget to check out the Crosman Wadcutters, they have been reduced to $3.00 for the 500 pack.  Good for plinking and breaking in new shooters.

For those of you that are unaware.....don't let these guns get past you. They are a beast of an airgun, hard hitting, and yes, out of the box they are rough.But....with a little trigger work,a little tuning, some loctite(blue)on the appropriate screws, and you've got yourself one helluva airgun.I'm shooting one with close to a thousand rounds through it,and the gun get's better by the shot.Deadly accurate, and VERY HARD HITTING!This gun has literaly a hundred squirrels under it's belt.I've owned it a little over 4 months....and NO,you can't hunt my spot!!!!!

Thats funny shadow,

I had a Salesman at Outdoor World listen to me and another customer talk airguns the other day and once no-one was around he asked me for a confidential lesson. I've got to hand it to him, He did have a dozen good questions.

You mean Cabels had a 350M on markdown? Because the best price that I know of on 350M is at MidSouth...used to be $316 but now they jumped up to $343. And then theres Pyramyd who has them for 345.50 with free shipping so thats a better deal all around.

Hey utah,  I'm from the real Eutaw --Alabama that is.  :)

You mentioned speed numbers in your post. I posted some on the airgun gate but will put them here as well.

I got my first 1000s about 9 months ago and had to take it back after a week. It wouldn't close the barrel after I cocked it. It was rough from the start too.
My second one was different.  I was over at Splash's nice backyard range and he lube-tuned it and smoothed everything out with emery cloth. It shoots great now. The tuning and lubing (no parts changed) makes all the difference in a rough Beast as yall call it and a nice reasonably easy cocking, relatively smooth and quiet shooting high power airgun.    Yall will probably like these chrony numbers.

For 10 shots:
7.9g Crosman wad cutters and 8.2 gr RWS superpoint
Low         971.9 ----- 934.1
Hi          1004.0 ----- 984.5
Ave         983.6 ----- 950.3
Spread     32.5 ----- 50.31
Std D         8.54----- 14.31

then Mike and Gary fed my addiction and told me about the $74 deal at Walmart, and yep I got another one.  Hey, what are friends for?

Charlie

Charlie,
Glad to be helpful, hehe.  I'm getting the bug to get one of these, or maybe a Storm xt.
